A workspace is a collection of one or more charts. They may be different instruments or different timeframes of the same instrument. If you open a workspace you can see all the charts it contains and switch between them from the menu Chart.
Sentient Trader can open multiple charts (in one workspace), but it can also open multiple workspaces. You can switch between workspaces from the Workspace menu, and you can switch between charts in each workspace from the Chart menu.
Usually one would open multiple workspaces by clicking on File> Open workspace multiple times. However, often one may want to open the same collection of workspaces regularly, and to make that easier, there is the "File> Open workspace collection" option. A workspace collection is the same as a watchlist, so to create a workspace collection, you must make a watchlist. When you scan a watchlist, ST runs an analysis on each chart in each workspace of the watchlist. When you open a workspace collection (whiach is the same file as your watchlist), instead of analysing each chart of each workspace, ST opens each workspace, so you can toggle between them and have them open at the same time.
The diagram below is a simple example:
As you can (hopefully) see: there is a Workspace collection (or a watchlist, the file-type is the same) which contains 2 workspaces. The first, Workspace 1, contains 2 charts, Chart 1 and Chart 2. The second workspace, Workspace 2, contains one chart, Chart 3. So in total the workspace collection contains 2 workspaces and 3 charts.
