Error reading data: "0 value closing prices"

If the software refuses to read an ASCII data file because of "0 value closing prices" this is because the data format has been incorrectly defined. It is therefore reading a different field that isn't a close value. If this happens, go to the option Tools> Redefine default ASCII format, and assign the values to the correct fields.

This happens because the only field Sentient Trader requires is a close value. If there is no close or the close value is invalid it will reject the data. If on the other hand there is no open price Sentient Trader will use the previous bar's close as the open, as long as that price is between the high and low of the day. If the previous bar's close isn't between the high and the low of the day then the open price will be assumed to be the closest price in the bar's range to the last bar's close.
